Frederick Police Respond to Shooting

FREDERICK, MD – Today at approximately 11:10 am, The Frederick Police Department responded to the 300 block of Heather Ridge Drive for a report of a shooting that had just occurred. As Officers arrived at Heather Ridge Drive, Frederick Memorial Hospital called and stated that a victim of a gunshot wound had just arrived at the hospital. The victim, an adult male, was later transported to an area trauma center for treatment and is in stable but serious condition.

The Frederick Police Department immediately made notification to Frederick County Public Schools and worked with them throughout the incident.

As of this time, we do not have any suspects identified. It is believed that the suspect fled the area in a dark-colored sedan. At this time, we do not believe this is a random event and there is no known threat to the public. Detectives are looking into the facts of the incidents from this past weekend to determine if there are any similarities. As of this time, we have not made a determination if they are related or not.
