Airport Aims to Land New Business at Major Industry Conference

Next week, Frederick Municipal Airport will make its debut at a leading aviation industry conference, where City staff expect to engage a wider audience for the City's uniquely situated and well-appointed airport.

“This is truly the premier professional development event for anyone with responsibility for scheduling or dispatching business aircraft," said Assistant Airport Manager Nick Sabo.

He is excited to announce that Frederick Municipal Airport (FDK) will exhibit at the 2018 Schedulers and Dispatchers Conference hosted by the National Business Aviation Association.

Frederick Airport and Economic Development staff will showcase the airport’s competitive amenities and proximity to major markets as leading reasons for business travelers to choose FDK instead of busier and costlier commercial service airports in the region. The airport aims to leverage attendance at the conference to increase business aviation operations and market future opportunities to those interested in development at FDK.

Special thanks to Plamondon Hospitality Partners and Frederick County Tourism for their donations of hotel and restaurant gift certificates, respectively. These items will be awarded as daily raffle prizes so first-time airport users can experience Frederick for an extended stay. The 2018 Schedulers and Dispatchers Conference takes place Feb. 6-9 in Long Beach, Calif.
