The course is designed to give citizens a better understanding of Frederick Police Department functions and the challenges each officer faces every day when he or she puts on the uniform.
Students receive instruction in many aspects of police work such as uniformed patrol, criminal investigations, traffic enforcement, search & seizure, and tactical communication. The course is highly interactive with frequent hands-on exercises. To complement classroom instruction, participants will also ride-along for a shift with a patrol officer.
The program is open to any resident of the City of Frederick, or persons with business interests in the City, who are 18 years of age or older and have no serious criminal convictions. Please contact Corporal Dan Sullivan at (240) 344-3073/ firstname.lastname@example.org for an application and further details.
